A Garça da Ribeira da Raia

Tão graciosa quanto arisca, nem sempre a garça cinzenta que vive junto à ponte da Ribeira da Raia, em Mora, se deixa avistar.

Vinha eu a descer a estrada quando a vi. Desliguei o motor do carro, deslizei até à berma, parei e, tão silenciosamente quanto me foi possível, agarrei na máquina e fui ao encontro de bela garça. Fez-se rogada. Voou para perto das árvores mas, por fim, não resistiu à tentação de ser a estrela do dia e deixou-se apanhar por esta paparazza.

As graceful as shy, it is not often that the grey heron lets herself be seen.

Coming down the road, I spotted her. I turned off the engine and slid to the roadside. Then, as quietly as I could, took the camera and walked to meet her. She played hard to get, and flew to the nearby trees, but in the end she didn't resist the temptation of being the star of the day, and let herself be caught on camera by the "paparazza".

Autant gracieu que capricieux, le heron cendré qui habit près du pont de la rivière de la Raia, à Mora, ne se montre pas souvent. Je descendais la route quand je l'ai vu. J'ai éteint le moteur de la voiture, je l'ai fait glisser jusqu'au bord de la route, je me suis garée, et puis le plus doucement possible, j'ai pris mon appareil photo et je suis allé à la rencontre de ce beau heron. 
Il m'a rendu la vie difficile, en allant se cacher dans les buissons, mais finalement il n'a pas pu résisté à la tentation  d'être la star de la journée et il s'est laissé fait atrappé par la "paparazza".
